I’ve been a photographer since mid-way through the last century and turned it into a full time working practice in 1998.
Photography can be a very precise business, directed by clients who want sharpness and accuracy. To take a break from this I became an undergraduate of the St Ives School of Painting for a couple of weeks in June each year. I still drop in to the life classes and have now moved from charcoal to iPad™.
I now find I can combine my photographic accuracy with the free strokes of the finger or brush and produce filtered images that I find interesting. I am particularly fascinated by the Georgian landscape of the Stowe Gardens through the seasons.
My photographic work is all digital and needs to have a frame around it to have value. I print onto Somerset Enhanced Watercolour Paper using Epson UltraChrome Archival Inks (Guaranteed colour fast for 85 years). Please do not pay extra for ‘Giclée Prints’ which is a neologism for the same thing!
